While playing last night at one of the Reservations in CT it seemed like every time I pushed out the max bets I lost. I think I made 1 blackjack with max bet...

Mostly shoes with pretty neutral counts.

$800 loss for about 3 hours work mostly at a $10 min.

Dealer pulling 4 and 5 card 21's with the few and far between good counts.

I am bringing this up because I just kept pushing the big bets out and losing one after the other... because that is what the count dictated. It has been discussed at length here that you need to have the bankroll and the guts to do that. I had fun anyway because I actually knew I had the advantage but that lady luck was at play.

A couple weeks ago I sat down at a $15 table and in less than an hour won $1750. Good shoe after good shoe with good counts with the dealer busting alot. It is cool when you got those max bets out and you win most all including the splits and doubles. That is how the money is made.

6 deck, DOA, DAS, S17, surrender. Poor pen... 1 3/4 to 2 cut off.

As a side note I have seen much better pen weekdays, before the night crowd.

1-10 is pretty "thin" for shoe games. your hourly win rate is extremely low with such a spread, caused by all the min bets you make in non-positive counts. I'd suggest wonging in/out which gives you a much larger effective spread... by not playing in negative counts at all...

If you don't wong out -- how can you use a spread more than 1-10? I mean, you can, but even 1-10 should attract some attention if you are winning.

depends on the game/casino. On the strip, at a $5 or $10 table, you can spread 1-20 with little worry. If your unit is $100, then things change. But not down low. I typically spread 1-20 for shoe games when it is too crowded to wong. But in a shoe game, you won't be tossing out very many max bets in an hour, it isn't like you are playing single deck and going from $5 to $200 to $5 on three successive rounds...

I play at the same store several times a month and do well with comps. At the $15 level with a 1 to 10 I often don't even get a "cheques play". I have occasionally pushed it to 12.

Playing conditions normally will not allow me to wong in and out anyway. I do take a walk when the count slips to low.
