Hello all

I think this is a cool site....

I have a couple of questions for you guys.

1. Is it good to play two hands ?
2. How many losses in a row, should i get, before I get up from a table.

I've never played two hands, so I'll let the more knowledgable folks here answer that. As far as the second question, do a search on this site for threads about "quit points". Walter has made some very good points about this topic.

Let's see. The idea behind leaving the table after a certain number of consecutive losses is to stop you from losing more than that many in a row. So let's say you leave the table after 4 straight losses, go to another table and lose your first 4 there, then quit for the day, come back next week and lose your first 4 again. That's 12 straight losses. Which is more unlikely? Losing 12 in a row that way, or staying at the first table and losing 12 straight?

Changing tables after 3-4 losses is rather like increasing your bet after a win. Fact is, there is no basis/reason for those actions. Both involve a program or plan that attempts to capture good luck and/or to avoid bad luck. If you could do that, you could win a coin toss game every time. Luck is not a programmable phenomenon.

I live in detroit mich, We have three casinos 15 mins away from me.

two of them only play with 6 decks, while the other one plays 6 and 4 decks.

Do i have a better chance of winning at the 4 deck table ?

The less decks, the more dependable basic strategy is......If the 4 decks
are placed in a CSM you may gain a tad more. In any case, the gains are
very, very small. If the 6 deck is hand shuffle, you may be better off playing
that game where your observations of the cards may be more valuable.

Unless you are counting cards, you are better off playing whichever game deals the least amount of hands per hour. A six deck hand shuffled game is better than a four deck CSM game, but a four deck hand shuffle trumps a six deck shuffled the same way.Until you are very proficent at counting, try playing at crowded tables.

And of course any game that the dealer STANDS on soft 17 is preferred over dealer HITS soft 17.
