Hi there guys...

I've been working on this sites trainer for quite some time. I enjoy playing BJ a lot on this site, other sites or with friends. But when it comes to throwing money down on a table.. I gotta ask.

How real is it? Is the money making such possible as worth the education in the game?

I have no problem diving head first into strat, books, stats and so forth if it's really there. Not that I'm in it to make money, because obviouslly the money must be there up front and it simply is an expander, non the less I enjoy the game with out the monitary gain. However, if there are monitary benifits to be made (and who really feels bad for casinos anyway?) I'm all for growing and educating myself in the game. I've seen a lot of books recomended around here, wich I'm sure $80 and 4 or 5 books later I'd be pretty good at playing. My question is to you people, the black chip players so to say, is it there really money to be made in getting good enough at this game?

For the most part I'd say that the game is more enjoyable, the more you know, and the better you play. Playing at a table with better player rules helps also.

My suggestion is to learn Basic Strategy, then learn to keep score while varying your bets say 1 to 5. Play Dealer STANDS soft 17 whenever you can. Don't play 21 if Blackjack pays 6/5 or even $. Don't play dealer HITS soft 17 unless surrender is offered. Spanish 21 should be avoided if the dealer HITS soft 17, and requires a DIFFERENT STRATEGY. Ignore the side bets, ALL OF THEM including Insurance.

For black chippers following all of the above guidelines, betting 1 or 2 at a 2-deck Dealer STANDS soft 17 is a nice game. For 6 or 8 deck Dealer stands soft 17, wagering 1,2,4 very nice also. Notice that your maximum bet never exceeds the number of decks.
