Splitting tens-mistake in rules

Splitting goes by value, not by the actual card. In hit or stand however, it only let's you split tens when the cards are exactly the same, such as KK, TT, JJ, QQ. This is incorrect, it doesn't matter WHICH ten you have, as long as you have two ten valued cards you can split them.

"Another fine point is that you are allowed to split any 10-valued cards, so you could split a (Jack, Queen) hand."

why would you ever want to split a pair of 10's?

In tournament play......splitting ten values....allows you an opportunity to play catch up.
I have won several tounaments by splitting tens on the last hand of play.

Three occasions come to mind.

1st, as mentioned above, playing catchup in tournament play.

2nd, when the true count is very high.

3rd, and I've only read about The Salmon doing this, is when you are near at the end of the deck, playing multiple hands and wish to bust on high value cards so there willl be a saturation of these cards in the deck after the shuffle while your low value cards are still on the table.
