How the house maximizes profit.

I often act as the house with my friends and often lose A LOT of money. Do you guys know of any methods that will help maximize my house advantage and help restore my bank account to its normal size?

There are no betting limits. We play with one deck, although bets rarely exceed 40 dollars. Blackjack pays 3:2.

Are any of his friends smart enough to count, esp. if he's giving them good deck penetration?

I do not play through the whole deck and my friends are intoxicated (yet extremely lucky) idiots who are not capable of counting cards. They can double down on anything. They can always split with a pair. There is no surrending. I do offer insurance but it is never taken. Thanks for you're help so far!

With liberal rules like that and only one deck the house's advantage is very small to begin with. Instead of changing rules, maybe you can start using 4 decks. Just tell your buddies you don't like shuffling so often.

And do you allow resplitting of pairs and doubling after splitting?

Best suggestion I have... Dealer wins ties, and Blackjack pays 2 to 1. Keep it a social game amongst friends...

My suggestion was going to be to start serving drinks, but now I see they're already drunk.

I think you're just experiencing what some people call short term negative fluctuation, which regular people call bad luck.

Two things real casinos have going for them that I'm guessing you don't:

1) A HUGE bankroll, so that normal fluctuations aren't so serious.

2) Due to having played many millions of hands of blackjack, they are in "the long run", where their house advantage has definitely been realized in the form of profits.

Over time you should make a little money, but with a lot of sometimes huge ups and downs. Just like those of us playing on the other side of the table.
