What does the P mean?

I was studying the basic strategy chart, but have no idea what the P means. Can someone please tell me what it means? Thanks!

Hi Lilly:
The "P" is telling you to split your two cards such as you would always do with aces and eights.
The reason the "roadmap-basic strategy chart" is using "P" for split is that the "S" is being used for stand.
Another one you may see which can be confusing is "DS" which means double if the casino allows and stand if they do not.
