View Full Version : Who said the 6 was a dealer's bust card!
Never in my life have I seen the dealer make a hand so many times while starting with a 6 up, as yesterday. After 10 hours of play, and seeing those 6's turn into 20"s and 21's for the dealer, I was almost wanting to hit my 12's through 16! And it cost me big time because of split and double down hands. Can anyone tell me what the odds are of the dealer actually busting on a 6 like they are SUPPOSED TO ???.

Dealer Breaks 42%... that means dealer MAKES 58%.
Its easy to think about hitting (though incorrect to do so) knowing that with 14 you have 7/6 odds of not breaking if you draw ONE card. No doubt many unwise players know this one dangerous tid-bit of info.
I did not realize it was that close of a call. Even makes me wonder about double downs. I would have thought the odds would favor the player with something like 65%. Whatever, it went totally against me yesterday, and today I am trying to get over it.
PJ- Five isn't any better at 42% also, four is 40%. When the dealer gets
on a roll, you can toss the odds out the window.......................For the
dealer to bust 28% of the time you need a lot of lady luck going your way.
You're only suppose to bust about 15% if you play perfect B/S.....on some
nights that seems like a joke, don't it?

You hit the nail right on the head..
When the dealer gets on a roll, you can toss the odds out the window.......................And Vice Versa, some of the biggest mistakes are winners, when a player is on a roll.

When I hit stiff hands and bust, it doesn't bother me so much. When the dealer keeps on pulling great cards out of nowhere, I feel pain. This game is too emotional. Should I take up golf?
