Hi
I'm currently fred renzeys bluebook 2.
I gotta few questions about the chapter on commonly mis-played hands.
If i'm holding a 6,5 against the dealers 10 card the book says to double down on this but my BS sheet says not to.
You can find my BS sheet here http://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/bjeurope.html
i live and play in the UK so rules a little different here. I can see the idea behind hittin it but am still not sure which way to go with this hand.

Another hand is if i'm holding A,7 against the dealers 9 the books advice is to hit it but my BS sheet says stand against a nine.

My local casino rules are 6 decks, deal stand on soft 17, double hard 9-11 only, DAS, cannot split 4, 5, 10's.
Any views would be appreciated.

Luke24- Looking at your chart you should hit A7 vs 9 unless there is
another chart somewhere. Don't double 6,5 vs 10, I think is due to the
no peek rule and the fact that if the dealer has BJ you will lose both bets.
These are not the best rules that I've seen..........................

Correct. With European No Hole Card Rule you should not double 11 vs dealer 10 or Ace. Renzey's book is based on US games.

Luke,
With true European rules where the dealer takes both bets if she makes blackjack after you double down, then you should indeed NOT double with 11 vs. 10. In standard US style blackjack when you double against a 10, you know ahead of time that the dealer cannot have or make blackjack. Even in "no-hole-card" games where they refund your second bet if the dealer makes blackjack, you should go ahead and double the 11 vs. 10, since the effect is exactly the same as if she had a hole card and checked it ahead of time. The difference between the two rules is .13% overall if you play both rules apropriately.
