hi guys, was wondering about the proper procedure on how to go about doing real well in a blackjack tourney that has only 2 rounds and they award the top winners whoever has the most money. there is no elimination, and no one advances, just 2 rounds and they add the money from both rounds. we get $2000 in tournament chips and min. is $50 max is $2000.... im used to tournaments that u have to advance to continue but this one everyone plays 2 rounds and the people with the most money end up winning... so what's the best way to go about this? big bets? progression betting? obviously i'm gonna be playing flawless bs always too :-) but please let me know! thanks

I don't know much about tournament play but I do know that flawless BS (oddly enough) is not necessarily the way to go.

Leon, and why not? I thought you only deviate from flawless BS when there are only a few hands remaining and you need to make a crucial to move to take the lead or maintain it... why would it NOT be a good idea to play flawless BS in a tournament? and can someone please answer me on how to go about playing this tournament where no1 is eliminated and they combine the totals from rds. 1 & 2 to determine the winners?

He didn't say it was not a good idea. You do use basic strategy, but not NECESSARILY. You are playing against the other players. If you fall behind, you may need to deviate and make aggressive plays to better your position.

What happens if you have zero $'s after round one? Are you eliminated? Or do they give you/everyone just $2000 at the start of each round?

No they give us $2000 at the start of each round. What's the best way to go about this type of tournament where im competing against all not just those at my table?

I'm not a tournament player, yet. I prefer finding a good book on tournament play first. That's how I learned BJ. I read several books and played on the simulators.
