I'm noticing some variations in basic strategy per some of the online references. For instance:

- one source says to stand on 12 when dealer shows a 3, other source says to hit
- one source says to double A/8 versus 6, other source says to stand

Is there such thing as definitive, trusted basic strategy chart? TIA.

I believe the problem is the number of decks being used and the specific rules for the game a person is playing. Hitting 12 v. 3 would be proper for any game. I don't think you should trust the source that says stand. Double A/8 v. 6 is correct basic strategy for a multiple deck game if the dealer hits soft 17. So my answer would be yes there is a definitive basic strategy but it varies depending on rules and number of decks.
