View Full Version : CSM vs. 6 Deck
My local casino has 6-deck shoe games with S17, DOA, RSA, DAS, No Surrender. The CSM's are 4-deck with same rules. Someone please tell me what the house advantage is for a basic strategy player using the CSM's?

The House Advantage for the CSM version is 0.28%
Thanks, N&B.
Does this mean a good BS player should play the CSM? The shoe game HA is .44% according to one source. The CSM is 57% better than the shoe, right?

As Nickels said, The house advantage for the CSM version is 0.28%.
The house advantage for the shoe version is 0.33%.
That is a difference of only one nickel for every one hundred dollars you bet.......Certainly not enough to justify playing a CSM.
In my opinion, anyone who is a member of this Forum is at least semi-serious about blackjack and should never play at a table that uses a CSM. As long as people play them, the casinos will keep using them; and there is no way you can get an advantage over them. Avoid them the same as you avoid 6:5 BJ tables....JUST SAY NO!

I'm still learning some of the terms... namly
S17, DOA, RSA, DAS, No Surrender.
Also, what is a CSM?
Agreed, Grifter.
I just can't justify sitting down at the same table with one of those things.
Even the dealers gripe about them while pulling cards.
For the previous poster:
CSM - Continuous Shuffle Machine (not to be confused with Automatic Shufflers)
S17 - Dealer stands on A/6
DAS - Double after splitting allowed
DOA - Double on any two cards
RSA - Re-splitting Aces allowed
No Surrender - If surrender is allowed, you may give up a high percentage bad hand and forfeit half your bet. Examples: 16 vs 9, 15 vs 10. Many places I play do not offer surrender.
