Status of Lake Charles casinos, after Katrina
  • Anybody know how things are at the Lake Charles casinos? I know not all of Louisiana is a disaster site, but I don't know what's going on over there. A couple of us were thinking of heading over there tonight, probably to L'Auberge du Lac, but I wanted to see if anyone here knew anything. Thanks.
  • Well, we're going. Bout to leave now. Will report back.
  • I don't think they have any problems at all that far west...

In fact, 50 miles west of N.O. and things are not that bad. Power outages here and there. But nothing like what happened to the areas east of N.O. including the MS coast.
  • It didn't even rain in Lake Charles while New Orleans was getting pounded. Everything is fine in LC.
  • Yep, happy to report that things were smooth-as-can-be at LDL, as well as on the highway there and back.

Really starting to like the place, not only cause it's extremely nice (especially by Lake Charles standards), but because it's a cool place to play. Dealers and pit bosses and even cocktail waitresses are all very chill and friendly. And, most importantly, I've had absolutely no trouble counting. Playing mostly at $10 6D tables, spreading 1-8 or even 1-10, and not drawing any (noticeable) attention at all.
