Casino Arizona removes some CSM's
  • Big news here in the Desert -- Some of the tables at the Casino Arizona location I frequent are now dealt from shoes rather than CSM's. They started this weekend. I didn't realize it until I sat down at the third table I tried after not doing so great at the first two, and all of a sudden I see a plastic cut card hit the table. Huh? The dealer saw my reaction "yes we just got them in because people were asking for them because they have them over at the Fort (competing casino)." So as soon as we started a new shoe, I did the Fred Renzey Ace-10 front count for the first approximately two decks. And for the next shoe, and the one after. They all came in between 37 and 41 so I just stayed with a flat minimum $10 bet. If that had been the only table I played this evening, I would have broken even. The other two had taken me down to 2/3 of my loss limit.

For anyone in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, it is only the location at the 101 Freeway and Indian Bend that now has the regular shoes. The McKellips/101 location is still all CSMs. Two items to note: (1) The shuffle is by machine (which I don't have a problem with). And (2) they burn three cards, not just one. (Act as though they're amongst the unknowns behind the cut card, right?)
  • Dawg - Great. Sounds like you now have decent game. What was the penetration and the table min/max?

They were dealing down to about one and a half decks before reshuffle. $10 min, $5000 max(?). (not sure about the max because I don't pay much attention to it.) I also noticed that the dealer's tray had purples in it, which I had not seen at anything less than their $25 tables before.
  • Dawg - Thanks. Yep, with that high a max they would need purple to handle the black+ action.

Howdy, Stranger!
