Single Deck
  • i was recently in Reno and all i have to say is to any beginner make sure you practice. I obviously didnt practice enough with my results. Anyways i found Single deck black jack pretty atractive and had a few questions about the game. When counting it doesnt make much of a difference when the cards are delt face down since you get to see them all anyways right? I know to stay away from 6-5 BJ payouts but what about games where the dealer hits
S17 Double only on 10 and 11 Split any pairs no DAS BJ pays 3-2. Also im pretty sure it is better to play Single deck one on one witht the dealer but i found that pretty hard to find so how many people can be at the table with you before it becomes a disadvantage? Finally I found a single deck game (after i lost all i had to gamble) With these rules $5 min Double down on any two cards, split any pair, DAS, Deal hits S17 and BJ pays 3-2. What would the house advantage be in this game.

Hey Chrono sorry to hear you had a tough session. See if I can help with your questions then I have a few for you since I get up to Reno ever so often.Cards delt face down will be turned over so you can get a look at them but you need to be fast as some dealers are real quick with the pickup.S17 d10 split any pair no DAS BJ-3 to 2 is or used to be the standard game in Reno and I was there last week. Where did you find a single deck game with DA2, DAS ,split any pair H17 bj pays 3-2? The house edge on that game would be app .19 %. Are you sure about your facts? Boy I would think people would be all over that game. As for number of players with single deck you must get 3 rounds between shuffels or your edge is melted away. The only thing you can do is steepen your betting curve to try to keep your edge though this can bring unwanted attention.Or find a table with 2 or less players.
  • IT was a little back hole casino in reno out by the Nugget i believe. It only had one table like that and from the looks of things the casino was not frequented by many people. Its called the Silver Club and it had the best rules as for a blackjack table that i found.
  • If you have soft 18 against a dealer 9 and you get to hard 14 or 15 you have to hit out your hand and not worry about busting. Basic strgedy tells you to hit hard 14 or 15 against a dealer 7 or higher showing!
