going to tunica-just found this site...any help is great
  • Im headed to Tunica, MS this fri. and just found this site tonight (thank god.) I was a DREADFUL BJ player before coming across BS. The good news is that i came across BS the bad news is that i need to establish a firm grasp by fri. I read several posts noting the differences between casino policies i.e. decks etc and the difference that could make to your BS approach. The version i have been learning is the vegas one which i assume is the most general.

I guess my question is what apprach should i take before my trip to tunica? I have no delusions of being where alot of you are in terms of skills but I am looking for the best thing(s) i can do to make me as dangerous as possible in 4 days. lol
  • Welcome to the Forum. Try http://skister.com/bj/ for rules in Mississippi and either buy or print a BS card and take it to the table with you for the hands you are having trouble with. Try flat betting(same bet every time). instead of progession betting. One less thing to think about. One more opinion. When using this forum, pay close attention to veteran posters like Grifter, Midnite and others. The game experience and logic they bring to this "table" has been a tremendous help to all the newbies like me. Finally, watch out for the intolerent ramblings of any "insects" that may try to influence your play. Their way of playing is defenitely not "Flawless".
  • Michigan Dave,

    :)
  • Thanks Dave. Sound advice.
  • Dave - Sounds like you having problems with bugs in your house. Why don't you do this. Go to your dumb dealer and get some insecticide ingredients. Mix them in precise proportions of 1.0/1.5/2.0/2.5 (anything but precise will not work). Be sure your mixing is flawless to allow them interact. If you don't like the results, rant and rave and call everybody dumb.....Grif'

No, no, no Grif. The mix must be precise and flawless.

And look at the bright side. Said insect doesn't even know where Tunica is...
  • Grifter- Thanks for the remedy. You are right in assuming that this is a "housebug".This immature species of "bug" are quite annoying although basicly harmless, and they slither around on their bellies because they don't have a leg to stand on. Ignoring them does not make them go away. Ive tried. I am hoping someday they will grow up and just go away. When that day comes, Then I'll be the HOUSEBUG MASTER.
  • or you could adopt my attitude, and view these creatures as both basically harmless and infinitely entertaining.
