Progression Question (hey, that rhymes)
  • Has anyone tried this? I know it doesn't fit in with the 1-2-3-4 mold, but I've been trying a $25-$30-$35 sequence, and it seems to have pretty good results after a week or so of sims. I'm reverting back to the original bet after the third, and using Walter's quit points. I did try this at Mohegan, but had a limited time to play, so I'm not sure what the results would have been there.
I will try it in real time, probably next week.
    Any thoughts?

  • John: It's OK, but it doesn't give you much of a chance for a big win when you hit a hot streak. You will lose more during losing streaks and win less during winning streaks because your base bet doesn't even double your max bet.

I see your point, but you do mean the reverse right? The maximum should at least double the base?

Just for a lark I'm going to try 20-30-40.

BTW, I'm always amazed at how often the 4 quit points are effective. I've tried just staying at the table, figuring the streak would swing the other way soon enough, but soon enough doesn't happen. On the other hand changing tables usually brings the better result. Logically it doesn't make sense to me. I mean, the odds should continue the same, no? But, hey, I'm not gonna argue in the face of something that works!

  • HI John-
All i can tell you is this-i use Walter Thomasons positive progressive betting system with quit points(along with basic strategy of course)
I've visited the casino 9 times this month and had ZERO losing sessions.
    Good luck!
  • PROGRESSIONIST,
Where do you play? (What state?) That's an incredible, IMHO, string of luck :) I play @ Harrahs (Rincon) San Diego, and I don't remeber when I've seen a winning session in recent history. I find most, if not all, the Calilfornia casino's have all but abandoned decent game rules. One table I've found was double deck pitch, dealer H soft 17, DAS, but had a 100.00 minimum. (Barona Resort)
  • jm: You're correct... I meant to say that your max bet doesn't even double your base bet. My mind is OK -- It's just that my fingers type backwards...
