New counter needs help with 2 Questions
  • Thank you for reading my thread...........

Im a simple Hi-Lo counter who goes to a casino once a week. I live near two casinos and alternate each week. I buy in for about $500 and am disciplined enough to leave after Im up about $250. Question #1: Will I fly under the radar enough like this? Am I small pototoes enough that they wont even notice?

Question #2: Im currently 21-3 on my 2006 trips - isn't this too good of a record? I'm due for some runs of bad luck right? I expected to have a slight advantage over them but I was originaly hoping for a 60% winning percentage - not 21-3!

Thank you for your time (and may you always get a queen on your double downs!)

That isnt that crazy. If you always leave when you are up $250 and you always quit when you lose the $500 then you are going to be winning much more often than you lose. At that small of stakes you should be able to play a long long time without getting barred at most clubs.
  • the solution don't let them knoow you have an advantage. First don't vary your bet more than 5 times between your maximum and minimum bets. Second pocket some chips especially when you are winning, big stacks attracked attention!!!

Today I saw somebody get barred that only had a $85 bankroll in front of him because the club thought that he was card counting. Note that this club had suffistacated machines called mindplay machines that can tell the difference from a counter vary his or her bet or the regular better!!! The club where you are playing at probably doesn't know that you have an advantage keep it that way!!!
  • My advice... mix in some progressions. Go there for FUN with small stuff. Throw the dice a bit, but bet smart.... Pass with 6&8, no props.

I'm hoping this isn't my neck of the woods so to speak.
