Counting software question
  • Are all the cards say in a six deck (any deck) software shoe dealt randomly with all counting teaching software?
  • No, they are only dealt in order from 2 to A in the suit order Clubs, Spades, Diamonds, and then Hearts.

That is one option with Casino Verite. Following is from the "Deck Bias" section of CV Help:

    Deck Bias

Drills are very useful for practicing one aspect of BJ at a time. The game is good for practicing all aspects at once. The problem is that random play does not present you with difficult situations very often. Most of your time is wasted playing easy hands. The point of these options is to make better use of your practice time. The Bias options can be used to greatly increase the difficulty of play by forcing more difficult situations as follows:

  • Norm, thanks for excellent answer.
  • Norm, are the cards that CVBJ deals random? I read you answer again and now don't understand it. I simply want to know if all the cards in the six deck practice software are dealt randomly?

Funky, if I want your opinion hereafter I will ask.

If you set the deck bias to No bias and you don't turn on a casino shuffle; dealing is random. Otherwise; dealing is non-random.
  • Norm..."....and you don't turn on a casino shuffle, dealing is random."

How do I do this with CVBJ? I am not aware of "don't turn on a casino shuffle." I read the entire book and Index and have failed to see this term mentioned. Just tell me how to set CVBJ so I can receive a random shuffle.

For some reason, I starting to believe a person can not elect to have a random shuffle while practicing with CVBJ. I hope this this is not true, and that I just don't know how to set software so I actually receive a true random shuffle like you receive in a live casino.
  • The default is random dealing. You can optionally set a real casino shuffle by going to TOOLS-CVSHUFFLE. You can optionally set biased dealing by going to OPTIONS-SETTINGS-SPEEDS/BIASES and setting a bias. If you did not do either of these, you will be dealt random cards. The software deals randomly unless you tell it not to.
  • "you can optionally set a real casino shuffle by going to - TOOLS -CV SHUFFLE...Norm Yes, and then you have to subscribe for additional software to receive random dealing...or am I wrong. I see you will give two weeks free if I'm not mistaken.

Something seems wrong here Norm...why would I have to subscribe to receive random shuffle/dealing software when I already purchased CVBJ?

I'm starting to believe that CVBJ does not random shuffle/dealing.

Let me try again. You do not need to do anything. As I said, "The default is random dealing."
  • jimpenn, if I care if you want my opinion before posting, I'll let you know. I was just making a joke.
  • I failed to take it as a joke. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
  • No prob -- sometimes its hard to see the tone behond typed words.
