learningtocount said:Boomtown does not allow a double after a split but they do pay your blackjack properly at 3 to 2. If you can find a game that allows double on any two cards double after a split odds are it is 6 to 5 blackjack and that is an inferior game.
Boomtown's rules are what the average rules in las vegas where 30 years ago; Not the crappy rules they have today.

The store I was at today has two changes in the rules posted that will be implemented shortly.
1)The rule where you must increase your bet on the second hand is going to be installed and modified. Instead of double the table limit on the second hand, in the future, you must double your current bet. For players like me this hurts because I can't play a strategy that has been very good to me. For example:
if I'm at two units (70%) that amouts to $35 on each hand. Now it will be $35-$70. This is a spread and variance consideration that is down the drain.
2)Hit soft 17 will implemented on shoe games for only a part of the shoe. One table that I was at was a test case and the dealer forgot to hit the soft 17 a couple of times. I did not determine the exact implementation, but the dealer goofs don't say much for this off-the-wall hairbrain thinking.
One other thing.....There are some new ASM's and they are big heavy units that hang off the back of the table behind the shoe. You can't tell if the device is working or not...very quite and appears to be well made. I say appears because the very first table I was at, the bottom two cards did not trasfer and were in the machine (left side) when the dealer did another shuffle (we played a short shoe). Things came to a halt while a change-out took place. I think they were aware of the problem because they were using one shoe of cards.
My $12.50 per day on Jury duty may be more valuable than I thought..........
