A question for Grifter
  • Hi Grifter-
Thank you for introducing me to the 1-2-3-5 progression. In a post yesterday you mentioned that you thought it was a decent progression-which makes me ask if you know of one or more progressions you think are as good or better? I used the 1-2-3-5 progression last night at the casino and the results were fantastic!
    Thanks again.

  • I have used the 2-1-2-3-4-5... progression for awhile and have had good results. What I like about this progression is locking in profits early by reducing the bet after a win. It does take longer to hit it big on a winning streak but when the cards are up and down you still can make a nice profit. With your progression if you alternate wins/losses you will lose 1 unit every two hands.
  • Prog - There are two other positive progressions that I would play if I played progressions. Walter Thomason's and Dahl's. Both are rather conservative, so your risk is minimal but they will give you the big win when you catch the winning streaks.

Both of these have been decribed in depth on this Forum (especially Walter's) but if you have any questions about them, send me a PM.

    Hope this helps.....Grifter
  • Well being a "rookie" here I am somewhat hesitant in putting my 2 cents in...but good grief, I thought that stock message boards had some real winners on them...people that obviously are knowledgeable..but just can't seem to act like an adult and seem to get waaayy off topic...acting like a 4 year old behind a computer screen as if anyone is impressed.... I've just been here a few days and was happy to see such a great board....didn't take long for that feeling to change...

    looking forward to civil conversation.

perhaps a ignore button is needed....

Quik, don't let your initial impression change. What you've witnessed is just a minor, temporary aberration.

I've only been here about nine months, but let me say welcome anyway. What you'll find here is truly intelligent people, always quick to lend advice, knowledge, analysis and just plain friendship. In less than a year here, I've improved my game by 100%, made some good friends along the way, learned an enormous amount, and enjoyed the relating of other's war stories.

Don't let the insignificant 1% ruin it for you. You'll be glad you stayed!

  • Nice post JM, well said.
  • jm....you are absolutely right..I'm not going anywhere...well I might take off work early today...lol....In the very short time I have been here, I have added considerabley to my knowlegdge of the game..and am looking forward to adding ALOT more!

    many thanks...
  • Quik65,
After searching the blackjack universe for months, I landed on THIS forum and it was just what I needed. A good variety of people with varied experience and knowledge of the game I love. Even some noted authors are here to respond to "newbies" like me if I need them. When I turn on my computer, guess which site I check first every day!. Just have to see what new messages are waiting. The last couple of days were crazy, but it didn't bother me since I was out enjoying my favorite local casino! Hope you decide to stay on board.
  • Yes this forum is excellant with Fred and Walter and others coming in and giving great diamonds of info and tips as well as the http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/blackjackcardcounterscafe/ ( its good for us bs ploppys as well  ) are my fav 2 forums
keep up the good work :D

Get real guys, any betting system that is not tied to card counting does nothing for your long term results, or even your short term. Use whatever betting system you want, I'm going to stick with the laws of statistics which clearly state the best betting system is one that minimizes the number of units you bet.
