Casino Problems
  • Okay lately I've been having some problems with this local casino. Last time I've gone in I had a 16 agains't a ten and I indicated for a hit, the dealer than turned over his hole card. Well I tried correcting the dealer who called the pit boss over and she called the eye who said that I indicated that I wanted to stand boy did that I annoy me. Last night I got a blackjack the dealer had an ace showing I waved him off and someone else called for even money but he proceeded to give me even money when I tried to correct him I got burned yet again!

I've been thinking for some lengh and have reached the conclusion that I don't really want to play at this casino anymore. I feel that if I could I would sue. I meen this is borderline cheating in my book and I can't trust them to be honest in their dealings. I JUST wish their was something I could do to get them in serious trouble.
  • are you sure you are being deliberate enough with your gestures for hit vs stand and insurance vs no insurance? i have seen people at my table whose gestures all looked alike so the dealer had to constantly hesitateand ask the person twice. i always say the word "hit" or "stand" along with making the proper hand movement just to make sure. when i first started playing i once had a dealer give me a card when i had 19 because she thought i said hit.
  • how much you playing a hand?? i assure you if you arent playin in the hundreds or thousands they could care less
  • After playing with the same dealer through a few shoes, he/she gets familiar with my style of play and knows what my decision will be before I signal. A funny thing happened to me last week when I was dealt some small cards. This was a very fast dealer and when my hand totaled 10, he never looked at me and continued to fire out more cards which eventually got to 21 faster than I could keep up. He was on to the next players, busting, then started paying everbody. I laughed out loud and said, "Hey, you just play my hands for me from now on. You know what I need!" I also realize dealers are real people and screw up sometimes. I once had a very young, attractive female dealer who was obviously new at the job. She was nervous and had trouble adding up her own hand. I was having to tell her what she had and also which one of us won the hand! I decided to put her at ease and just spoke friendly and threw her a compliment now and then. She must have had a rough day because later she said I was the nicest customer she dealt to that day. The only dealers I won't tolerate are the arrogant, rude type. I just find another table.
  • Well I know I've been good with my hand gestures because when I made the hand signal I said as well 'no even money.' Oh well I've found a better casino to play at.
  • that seemed to be your mistake. no EVEN MONEY. you see my point. i am sure the dealer didnt hear when you said no.
  • I agree with KY. if you didnt want even money its not a good idea to say the words "even money" even if you did say no before it. your taking the risk that the dealer might not hear the no. you should have said No Insurance.

Thats like saying "No Hit" every time you want to stand. why not just say Stand
  • Okay, well that was my mistake. He simply miss heard me. However I have had several problems in the past before this occurd. When I first started playing black jack this dealer was being extremely rude to me and I was playing the lucky ladies and he couldn't stop criticizing how I bet and told me to up the bets, etc. Well I finaly got the lucky ladies and bam him mocked me because I only had a 'dollar' on it.

I've noticed that the dealers their love to tell you how to place your bets. It also happened on three card poker when I had five bucks out on three spots and got a straight flush. Grrr.
  • what is lucky ladies?
  • a sucker bet.
  • just taking a wild guess, does it mean getting dealt like 2 queens of spades or something. ive only played in AC and one casino in vegas and never seen it.
  • IT'S A SUCKER BET LIKE GRIFT SAID. IF YOU LIKE YOU CAN MAKE A SIDE BET-YOU WIN IF YOUR FIRST 2 DEALT CARDS EQUAL 20.
YOU GET HIGHER ODDS IF THE 20 IS 2 OF A KIND-2 OF A KIND WITH MATCHING SUIT,ETC,ETC.
I NEVER EVER PLAY IT-SO ONE NIGHT I GET,I THINK IT WAS 2 QUEEN OF HEARTS,AND THE DEALER HAD A BJ WHICH PAID 1000 TO 1 ODDS!!!!!!!!
THE DEALER SAID HE FELT BAD FOR ME-I REALLY DIDN'T FEEL BAD AT ALL 'CUZ I NEVER MAKE THE DUMBASSED SIDE BET!!!
    PROG
  • Prog, I agree with you. I wouldn't have felt too bad because I opt not to play those asinine bets. Mohegan Sun here in CT has one like it I think, something involving three sevens or some such nonsense.

But Jeez, 1000 to 1 odds. I can't help imagining having a black chip riding on that one. I think I would stop playing BJ. (At least for a year maybe  )

    Yeah, right..
  • "Mohegan Sun here in CT has one like it I think, something involving three sevens or some such nonsense. "

Blackjack Bonanza, for one... I think Super7's is still around. Spanish 21 has the 7's, 678, and 3 7 of spades against a 7 bonanza payoff off 5G's.
  • There's a place Downtown, LV, (maybe The Horseshoe) that has a game that, if you get a suited BJ, lets you push a big button that spins a wheel and pays you what ever you land on, like "Wheel Of Fortune", sort of. Of course my wife loves that game and plays it for hours, for an extra 1.00 per hand. She's won a couple hundred bucks from her extra Hundred Thousand-dollar investment so far. (Just Kidding) I think those games are good to have around to help me entertain the wife at times and I have fun playing them as well, those and other things like the Liberace museum, time and time again, and shopping for worthless souvenirs for every person we've ever known in our lives.
     8)
  • In my opinion in Spanish 21 you MUST play the match or your going to start losing BIG. The reason being that since the deck is depleted of tens you are at a major disadvantage as is. The match does even the score by a small margin and the other fantastic rules make it a little bit better but all in all your better off with strictly regular blackjack.
