Good week-end
  • Hi:

Played several sessions this week-end with semi-good results...
Friday Played Pauma (Calif) lost $200.00
Sat. morning San Manuel San Bernardino lost $100.00
(To many continuous shuffle machines here)
Sat. afternoon back to Pauma won $300 (now even for the week-end)
Sunday Soboba won $500.00........ So up $500.00 for the week-end. Not bad for play not using a true B/S and not counting.... varying bet $15/25.......... :D
  • That's good.

I ended my weekend up 520 units. I bet green and black, so you can figure I did quite well.

Oh, btw, I do count using hi-lo.
  • Wow, you mean one player didn't count all weekend and another player spent a lot of energy counting and they both wound up ahead the same units? I thought counting was supposed to give you this big edge.

    I guess counting IS over-rated.

    Doubtin' Thomas,

Uh, note the difference between $500 and 520 units. If my bet unit is $25, that comes out to $13,000 for the weekend, for a $50 unit I profit $26,000, etc.

Next time I suggest you think before you post.
  • WOW.... and I felt good about my measly $500.00. I guess we are not in the same league...... Oh well I had a good time, and my starting bet of $15.00 is all I can afford.... Maybe if I win big I can bet big.... Although my wife won the drawing at Pauma a couple of weeks ago for $10,000.00 but we saved it rather than re-investing.... I'm still happy with my $500

    unclenorm,

And rightly so, you should be happy with your win! Anytime you can walk away ahead you should be happy. There is nothing wrong with saving your $10,000. :D Let's hope we continue to get good cards.
  • Unclenorm,
What do you mean by, "not using a true B/S"? If you are referring to basic strategy, did you deviate from basic strategy?
  • Whether one counts or not one is subject to the rules of standard diviation. You can count and win, or count and loose. Same with progressions. In the long run most gamblers lose. Only the best(about 2 or 3%) of counters win. All progression players lose in the long run. That is why a casino never goes broke.

  • Sorry, jp. I guess I missed the part where you specified which unit you were up, since you said you played green AND black. I assumed then you meant dollars. My bad.

I guess I'm nowhere near your league, if there is no difference to me being ahead 13,000 or 52,000.

I understand that the Caesars’/Hilton Group (Park Place) has a plan to spend 500 Million (Literally) according to some construction forecasting I had to do, for work, on The Pauma Casino, to make it a complete Mega Resort, in the next couple of years. It almost seems a shame, as I kinda miss the little unpretentious places the Indian casinos used to be.
500.00 is nothng to sneeze at, and 10 Grand is a pretty sweet windfall too.
