Best way to win...
  • #1. Throw away all blackjack books

#2. Forget counting if you think a 2% advantage is worth increasing your bet on you should go home and save your money.

#3. Read Surfteq's previous column as he has the closes thing to perfect play.

#4. Sudy percentages of each hand for the player and the dealer and be able to calulate what is best in each situation.....

I win 8 out of 10 sessions after I started doing the above.
  • Unclenorm, where do you play at, and how many decks???...thanx in advance...

FWIW : In my Real-World Casino "experience", the most common "pattern" of consecutive winning (or losing) hands in a row is 2 (usually at the DD tables)...so after I WIN 2 hands in a row, I decrease my bet back to the table minimum, and after I LOSE 2 hands, I increase my bet for the next 2 hands...also, I've seen some solid winning and losing "streaks" of up to 10 hands in a row on the 6 deck shoe tables...I always prefer the DD tables whenever I can... The 6 deck shoes are often very difficult to consistently beat, but it is possible...

IMO : The Secret to Winning in BJ (especially DD) is Printed right there on every BJ Table : BJ Pays 3 to 2...I expect to LOSE up to 3 Hands in a row, and then WIN the next 2 Hands in a row...This is especially True when the Average Dealer BUST Rate = 25% (1 in every 4 Hands).
  • Unclenorm,
I hope you mean "Throw out all books except Renzey's Blue Book II". :)
  • Percentages & Statistics...

DEALER UP CARD BUST % -
Dealer Up Card / Dealer Bust %
    2 35.30%
    3 37.56%
    4 40.28%
    5 42.89%
    6 42.08%
    7 25.99%
    8 23.86%
    9 23.34%
    10, J, K, Q 21.43%
    Ace 11.65%

PLAYER HAND HIT BUST % STATISTICS -
Player Hand / Average Hit Bust %
    12 31%
    13 39%
    14 48%
    15 56%
    16 64%

    STRATEGIC POWER TIPS -

Always STAND on ALL Hands of 19, 20, and 21

    UNDERSTAND THE "X FACTOR" -
You must Realize that 31% of the CARDS have a Value of 10 :
    10, J, Q, K = 31% of the CARDS!!!
EXPECT a 10 Value Card in almost 1 out of 3 CARDS,
and Expect a Non 10 Value Card in 2 out of 3 Cards = 69% of the CARDS.

    STATISTICALLY,
the most common Win/Loss PATTERN in BLACKJACK
is 2 CONSECUTIVE WINNING or LOSING HANDS in a ROW,
and MOST of the time there is usually NOT more than
3 CONSECUTIVE WINNING or LOSING HANDS in a ROW,
so AFTER 3 CONSECUTIVE WINNING HANDS,
EXPECT to LOSE the next 2 HANDS (and MINIMIZE your BET SIZE accordingly),
and AFTER 3 CONSECUTIVE LOSING HANDS,
EXPECT to WIN the next 2 HANDS (and MAXIMIZE your BET SIZE accordingly).

MEMORIZE the TOP 3 Dealer BUST CARDS :
    4 = 40% Average Dealer BUST rate
    5 = 43% Average Dealer BUST rate
    6 = 42% Average Dealer BUST rate

    STATISTICALLY,
A Dealer will usually BUST about 25% of the time = 1 in every 4 Hands...IF you LOSE 4 or 5 Hands in a row, find another Table.
  • I play...

I have not read Renzey's book but assume it is not much different than the others... I like G. Phillip Cline's book which I bought a couple of years ago and modified my play from it. I don't count on winning more than 2 hands in a row and anything above that is a bonus.....
  • All bet methods other than TC depend on patterns and statistics that
don't exist. They are a free creation of wishful thinking. Every casino in
America would gladly take 2% as their advantage and so would I.

SSS thanks for the info...My son tells me frequently that I'm obsolete
and my 35 years experience in large systems research and development needs and upgrade. I keep telling him it's the terms and not the smarts
that is different in todays world. Operating Systems are still resourse
managers, have a high degree of commonality and generally, the same
    objectives.
  • Ray - Save your breath. He's quoting Richard Harvey's voodoo again.
  • Ray:

Have you any experience with the "Pick" system??? I have been a dealer in that market for the last 30 years... Norm
  • Grifter, you sure have a way with words...lol
